Dr. Nathan Beck
Dr. Nathan Beck earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UCLA School of Dentistry.
He began his career providing care in American Samoa at the Lyndon B. Johnson Tropical Medical Center, then served patients for three years in Bishop, CA through the Toiyabe Indian Health Project. Since 2020, Dr. Beck has proudly been part of the Atascadero Hills Dental team, serving the Central Coast community with compassion and expertise.
Beyond the dental chair, Dr. Beck contributes to the field as an assistant professor at Western University of Health Sciences and serves as an ethics consultant for the Dental Board of California. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association, and Central Coast Dental Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Beck enjoys family adventures with his wife and four sons—whether hiking, hitting the beach, or coaching youth sports. He’s an avid surfer (with a healthy respect for local sharks!), a former Polynesian dancer from his family’s luau business, and fluent in Spanish after spending time in Argentina as a missionary.
Dr. Preston M.
Dr. Preston Beck joined Atascadero Hills Dental in August 2021 as co-owner and business partner alongside his brother, Dr. Nathan Beck.
Known by their patients simply as Dr. Preston and Dr. Nathan, the two brothers first discovered their passion for dentistry during a 2010 humanitarian trip to the Islands of Tonga. That experience inspired their shared vision of one day running a family-owned dental practice.
Dr. Preston earned his dental degree from the University of Southern California’s Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. He was awarded a full scholarship through the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program and later served as a U.S. Navy dental officer. During his four years of service, he was stationed in San Diego, North Carolina, and San Clemente, CA. After completing his military service, Dr. Preston pursued advanced training in implant dentistry through a year-long course with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
At the practice, Dr. Preston works alongside his wife, Rachael, who is one of the dental hygienists, and their father, Maril Beck, who serves as the business manager—making it a true family affair.
When he’s not at the office, Dr. Preston enjoys coaching his five kids in sports, spending time outdoors with extended family, and staying active with early morning workouts alongside Dr. Nathan. A tennis and pickleball enthusiast, he still carves out time for friendly competition and also serves weekly in his church’s youth program.
Montana Stevenson
Dental Assistant and Back Office Leader
Began her dental career at just 16 years old and has now been in the field for over a decade. She worked as a dental assistant for three years before earning her degree in Dental Hygiene from SJVC in Visalia. Her passion for dentistry and dedication to patient care have made her a valued part of the Atascadero Hills Dental team.
As a Dental Assistant and Back Office Leader, Montana brings both skill and leadership to the practice, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming experience for every patient. She genuinely enjoys connecting with patients and making them feel comfortable and cared for.
Outside the office, Montana loves hiking and going on walks with her family and two dogs. A proud Atascadero local for 26 years, she’s deeply rooted in the community and loves calling the Central Coast home.
Elizabeth Ray
Lead Registered Dental Hygienist, BS | Laser Specialist
Elizabeth Ray brings over 30 years of dental hygiene experience to Atascadero Hills Dental and has been part of the team since Dr. Nathan Beck and Dr. Preston Beck first opened their practice. As the Lead RDH and a Laser Specialist, Elizabeth is passionate about promoting oral health and takes pride in helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Her dedication, expertise, and warm approach make her a trusted and valued member of the team. Outside of the office, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, dancing, and making the most of the great outdoors.
Rachael
Graduate of Dental Hygiene Program, Indiana University School of Dentistry
Rachael is a graduate of the Dental Hygiene Program at Indiana University School of Dentistry and has been practicing for over 13 years. She is patient-focused, driven to provide a personable experience along with the highest quality of care possible. She attends many continuing education classes and is always striving to gain more knowledge for the benefit of her patients. She is married to Dr. Preston Beck, and together they are raising their five wonderful children. She enjoys staying active and believes that health and wellness start with a smile.
Vanessa
Dental Hygienist
Vanessa has been practicing dental hygienist since 2013. She loves serving her patients on the central coast. She’s the mom of two beautiful girls and loves spending her time outside, on hikes and with her animals.

With limited access to dental care, many individuals in Samoa suffer from untreated oral health issues. Our team had the privilege of providing free dental treatments, extractions, cleanings, and education, making an immediate and lasting impact.
